Jakarta – KAI Commuter has confirmed that with the implementation of the 2025 Train Schedule Graphic (GAPEKA) starting from February 1, 2025, the Jabodetabek Commuter Line electric train (KRL) will still stop for passengers to board and alight at Karet Station. The plan to integrate Karet Station with BNI City Station is still being discussed and coordinated with the regulator, the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation, and various other parties.
Improving Infrastructure
KAI Commuter is currently enhancing the quality of facilities and infrastructure for the integration of these two stations. The Vice President Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus, mentioned that preparations are underway for the integration of the two stations. Discussions are ongoing regarding the operational patterns of the Commuter Line services at these integrated stations to ensure maximum service for users.
Infrastructure Development
The construction of integration access, canopy installation, and pedestrian-friendly facilities at the western end of BNI City Station towards Karet Station is in progress. Additionally, plans for public space concept development in the Karet Station area have been well-designed by various parties. This area will feature spaces for small businesses to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).
Safety and Efficiency
The integration of Karet Station with BNI City Station considers the safety of Commuter Line users and operational safety. The proximity of a level crossing near Karet Station and the carrying capacity of the Commuter Line are also taken into account. The increase in passenger numbers is projected due to the strategic location of BNI City Station and Karet Station, which are connected to various other transportation modes such as Transjakarta buses, KRL, MRT, LRT, and JakLingko.
Enhancing Passenger Experience
The integration plan aims to support passenger movement by ensuring timely departures and arrivals, short travel times, and safety and comfort for passengers. These steps reflect the commitment to better serve Commuter Line users.
By incorporating these changes, KAI Commuter is dedicated to providing an improved and seamless commuting experience for passengers. (Translated to Indonesian)
